Using modern molecular biology and bioinformatics, research is focused on questions relating to global genome-wide functions and responses to environmental signals. Current studies of gene-environment interactions include projects on aging, reactive oxygen species and inflammation, cancer causation and prevention, response of cells to hypoxia, pharmacogenetics and chemical genomics.
