Interdisciplinary Research Groups
Biomaterials and Biomechanics
Scientists from diverse backgrounds, including Chemistry, Physics, and Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, work together to study the interaction between man-made materials and the human body. They provide expertise related to the development and application of biomedical materials, with a special emphasis on orthopedics. University faculty are involved in all levels of materials research, product development, and testing for a wide range of applications that include vascular grafts, artificial hips and knees, coronary stents, and pacemakers.
